Welcome to Villa Palazzola, Rome's best kept secret

In a stunning lakeside location just outside Rome, Villa Palazzola is a 13th century Cistercian monastery, fully refurbished and modernised with a large swimming pool and breathtaking garden terrace.  It's the perfect place for parish groups, pilgrims, school groups, families, couples or people on holiday on their own who stay for a couple of days or a couple of weeks.  It's also a wonderful place to hold a wedding in Rome.

Have a look at the pages and photos on this website and prepare to be enchanted.

"In terms both of the beauty of the natural environment and the warmth of the human environment, this is an exceptional place.  My visits there have been happy and fruitful, and I know that all who have shared those visits would say the same."

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Rt. Rev Rowan Williams.

Visit the Exhibition at the Venerable English College
The Venerable English College opens its subterranean spaces for the first time, with an exhibition that explores the history of the College, from its foundation as a hospice in the 1300s to its transformation into a seminary in 1579. The visitor can share the incredible experiences of those pilgrims who made the long and arduous journey from England to Rome in this period, while also discovering what life was like for those Jesuit priests who made the return journey from the English College itself to Elizabethan England, on mission and in secret. We invite you to experience what it was like to hide in a priest hole, visit a 16th Century London prison and even cross the English Channel ! Non Angli sed Angeli is an exhibition that promises to surprise and intrigue you. The exhibition runs from 21st October 2009 to 31st July 2010. [Read more]
